TRAINEE OFFICER/OFFICER (JG7/SG7)
INTERNAL AUDIT DIVISION

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

a. Citizen of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam;
b. Has knowledge on the Islamic religion, national customs, Bruneian culture, social, economic and political development of Brunei Darussalam;
c. Has a minimum Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Finance or Accounting from universities and institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam; or
d. Has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Finance or Accounting from universities and institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam with minimum of five (5) years working experience in related field.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

a. Must be proficient in English and Malay language;
b. Skilled in Information Technology (IT);
c. Good knowledge and understanding of the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) Act and Merchant Shipping Order 2002, including knowledge of Brunei Darussalam territorial waters and port limit areas;
d. Excellent verbal, analytical, organisational, writing and editing skills;
e. Excellent media relations skills.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Assist in improving any internal audit policies, procedures, and work standards according to international best practice, when applicable;
b. Assist in performing the Internal Audit’s Annual Risk Assessment and Enterprise Risk Assessment to develop the Annual Risk-Based Internal Audit Plan for Audit Committee’s review and approval;
c. Execute planned audits, including the design of audit work steps from planning stage until issuance of report, to evaluate risks associated with governance, financial, operational, regulatory, and business continuity;
d. Execute all audits at a timely manner and/or as per schedule;
e. Lead and monitor all follow-ups until all issues are rectified;
f. Execute any ad-hoc audits, when instructed;
g. Proactively informing reporting line of significant risks or exposures related to internal controls, compliance and/or governance requiring prompt action;
h. To perform such other functions as conferred on the Authority by the MPABD Act or any other written law as amended; and any other tasks assigned by the superiors from time to time.
